Comeback: 5 stylish ways to wear a bandana

Tattoo necklaces, patches and now bandanas too – we just can’t get enough of the cool trends from the 90s. So let’s get out those little square scarves in every possible colour and design! Bandanas go with absolutely any outfit and are THE statement piece for 2017. And you can wrap it round and knot it as much as you like. Today, we’ll show you 5 stylish ways to wear bandanas: We’re up to our neck in bandanas 😉 We’ve given the most classic of all bandana styles a nautical twist here. Combine it with an anchor necklace and large hoop earrings – and you’re ready for a trip around the bay. We think this version is pretty cool too: Fold the bandana up into a narrow strip and wrap it around your wrist until you can just about tie a little knot. Add some large rings, and there you are! Maybe you’d like to give your classic bag a make-over? Just tie a matching bandana around the flap. Et voilà: your new IT piece! You can easily pimp your (boring) jeans with a bandana too! Simply tuck it loosely into the pocket or knot it round the belt loop. Now that’s what we call cool! Ankles are also part of the 90s comback. A bandana tied around the ankle will make your white sneakers look dazzling. We’re in love! You’ll find all our trendy scarves and lots more cool bandanas online or in our stores! How will you tie your bandana?

Sugar-sweet and playful: the Romantic Twist for the perfect festival look!

Romantic summer nights, long beach parties and colourful festivals are what we love best about the warmer months of the year! We want to dance in the sun until it sets, with our hair blowing in the wind. And we think that calls for the right hair style too, of course! Colourful hair ornaments are a must-have at festivals in particular: every head needs to be adorned with feathers and garlands of flowers. We show you here how you can show off a floral garland beautifully in just a few steps. For the Romantic Twist, you’ll need:  Hair band  Hair clips Let’s get going: 1. Allow the hair to fall naturally, without combining it out. 2. Choose a sweet hair band and fix it at the back of the head. 3. Twist in a strand of hair to the right and left of the crown and wrap around the hair band further back. Tip: The best way to do this is with a hair clip. 4. Wrap the strands of hair several times around the hair band and 5. pin firmly in place. This sweet hair garland with pink blossoms makes us dream of Ibiza as soon as we see it. You too?  You’ll find more great hair bands and clips that you need for the Romantic Twist here online or else in our stores, of course.

DIY: A floral garland in the beach boho look

You think shells and flowers have nothing in common? But they do! If we bring these two natural materials together, add a few tassels, feathers and beads, we’ve got our new cool summer collection, „Beach Boho“! For a casual beach outfit, ready for the next beach party, the sandy-coloured nude shades combined with bright coloured elements and blossoms are simply perfect. This is how to create the real beach feeling! And that raises the question: Will you choose a hairband with sweet fake flowers for your perfect beach boho look, or would you rather dance in the sun wearing a real garland of flowers? We show you here how to make your own individual garland of flowers for yourself: You’ll need: Flowers of your choice Wire (green) Florists‘ adhesive tape Ribbon Scissors Wire cutters Metal hoop Let’s get started! Firstly, cut your favourite flowers to a length that will leave some of the stem for wrapping round. Now take a piece of round wire and match it to the circumference of your head. The smaller the circumference, the more wire you can remove. Once you’ve found the right size, wrap the green florists‘ tape tightly around the wire. Now you can use the green wire to tie the floral garland. Fix your flowers in any order you like to the round wire, using the stems to secure them. Make sure that every flower is firmly in place. Once you’ve reached the end, take the ribbon, knot it tightly at both ends of the wire and wrap the florists‘ tape around it so that there are no sharp points sticking out. Then tie a little bow to round off your floral garland! Enchanted by pastel shades and shells? This sweet bracelet combines them beautifully!  Trendy chokers come in all sorts of shapes and colours! And luckily, you’ll find plenty to fit in with our new Beach Boho collection! This ring is a real eye-catcher in our sea of flowers, don’t you think? You’ll find more Beach Boho jewellery here online or in our stores. Let us know what flowers you choose for your garland!

Wedding guest – do’s and don’ts for dress code

Ahhh! There’s a wedding coming up and you simply have „nothing to wear“? An endless problem for women – we’re familiar with it. But relax, get yourself a refreshing drink and read our list of Do’s and Don’ts. We’ll find something, don’t worry.  Evening dress, cocktail dress, ball gown, LBD, skirt, trouser suit or maybe even a jumpsuit? The important thing is to follow the bridal couple’s dress code! Sometimes this is given in the invitation (e.g. black tie, white tie, cocktail dress, casual, smart casual). But if you can’t see any information about what to wear, take a closer look at the invitation. Often, you can pick up a few indicators here. If the couple is getting married at a farm, your outfit can be a little more casual and romantic. For a wedding in a castle, you could dig your most formal dress out of the wardrobe.  Anything cut too tightly, too short or too scantily is an absolute no-no! Remember: Anything that’s too striking and takes attention away from the bride and groom is off-limits and should be avoided. But that can have its advantages: You can move freely and enjoy the wedding without having to pull your tummy in all the time!  And you should leave your comfy shoes at home – after all, you want to cause a stir on the dance floor with the bride and groom and the rest of the guests, don’t you?  We all know that white, cream, champagne, eggshell and so on are not the colours for the wedding guests. After all, you don’t want to upstage the bride, do you? But what about brighter colours such as shocking pink or red? And are guests allowed to wear black? Once again: just ask! Whether the bride will actually wear white is not 100% certain nowadays. Shades of rose pink and nude are also really popular at the moment. Generally speaking, you should avoid the colours that the bride is wearing, as she ought to take centre stage. Black, as the colour of mourning, used to be frowned on, but it can be brightened up with coloured accessories nowadays. We have a tip for those of you who can’t decide: Pastel shades are particularly suitable and flatter lots of skin types!  Don’t forget the „extras“! Accessories will bring your outfit to life and can be practical little helpers too. For example: You’re wearing a strapless dress and the wedding is in a church? Then drape a lovely scarf around your shoulders. A great side effect is that it will keep you warm if you start to feel chilly. You can keep your lipstick, powder and handkerchiefs in a pretty clutch. You’ll find these and other great accessories here online, of course, or in our stores! 😉 Alongside all these do’s and don’ts, you should avoid one thing: worrying too much! Don’t get stressed out and spend a wonderful day amongst your old and new friends. The best thing you can take to a wedding is you and your smile!

Wedding jewellery – for the most beautiful day of your life

Everything has to be just right on the most beautiful day of a woman’s life. The timing, the mood of the guests, the weather, the decorations, and so on and so forth… This is what makes or breaks an unforgettable wedding celebration. And if we claim that the wedding dress and the right accessories also have a very important role to play, not many people would contradict us, we think. When we’re still little girls, we all dream of being a princess one day. Ever since the VOX TV programme „Between tulle and tears“, however, if not before, we all know how different women’s wishes can be when it comes to their dresses and the matching accessories. But no matter what your dream wedding dress looks like, it’s important that you feel at home in it and that the bridal jewellery matches and harmonises with it. We’d like to show you a few of our favourites. Less is more! Your natural beauty should take centre stage, of course, and nothing should distract from you and your wedding dress. So it’s important to stay subtle and elegant when choosing the jewellery for your wedding day. Pick up the elements in your wedding dress: If, for example, it incorporates rhinestones and golden sequins, these earrings will underscore your look. You should also match whatever you wear around your neck to your dress, of course. What about one of the classics when it comes to wedding jewellery – a string of pearls? The shades of the pearls will go with almost any wedding dress and they can be worn with all sorts of necklines, depending on the length and size. This multi-row pearl necklace in cream and pale pink goes particularly well with a sweetheart neckline. Will you be wearing a halterneck dress on the most beautiful day of your life? If so, a necklace isn’t necessarily the best choice, and the focus will be on your hair. Ideally, you should pin it up and dress it with sparkling hair ornaments. This romantic comb is a real highlight in a loosely pinned up hair style. Holds together what needs to be held together! If you’re going for a classic, elegant chignon, you can adorn it with sweet hair pins. Take a look in our stores or online: Every bride will find what she’s looking for there! And now – have fun with the rest of your wedding preparations!

DIY: Jewellery-candle surprise for Mothers‘ Day

Mum’s the best! We know that, and we hope that most mums are told it often enough. But once a year, we like to show our love and recognition with a little, personal gift, just to say thank you. And then you probably have just the same problems as most other sons and daughters: You start wondering which gift is really good enough, and whether it will bring a smile to Mum’s face. It could be a painted portrait, of course (but only if you’re still a little child or maybe a great artist), a huge bouquet of flowers or a piece of jewellery. Are you looking for something different this year? What about our „packaging idea“? With our DIY, you only see the gift when a little piece of wax has melted off an aroma lamp. Firstly, gather together the following items: – An aroma lamp – Left-over wax from a scented candle – Oil – Aluminium foil – Tea lights – Lighter – Little tea light holders – A small, delicate piece of jewellery The first thing you need is a little candle wax: We simply grated an old scented candle. However, you’ll find ready-made granules in all sorts of colours in any craft shop. With this option, you then have to add a few drops of fragrant oil to the granules. First, you just need to melt the grated wax in the aroma lamp – to do this, add the wax at the top and light the tea light in the body of the lamp. Meanwhile, grease a little tea light glass with oil and wrap the jewellery in aluminium foil. Once the wax has melted, pour the liquid into the tea light holder and carefully place the prepared piece of jewellery in it. Now leave the pieces of wax to go cold and solid. Then remove it from the glass. Now the piece of wax just needs to be trimmed with a bow before you pack it into the (cleaned) aroma lamp and a fresh tea light. Just add a f ew little flowers and Mum will be delighted! We guarantee it! „M“ stands for Mum, Mummy, Mom or Ma: What’s your nickname for your mother? „C“ stands for character – what would we all be without our mothers? What particular characteristics do you get from her? „A“ stands for all-rounders: Mums have lots of jobs – taxi-driver, nurse, cleaning lady, counsellor, cook, arbitrator and lots more, with working hours that are just around the clock. Many thanks! What do you think of our gift idea! You’ll find all the alphabet necklaces and more gift ideas here.

White Wedding – Do’s and Don’ts for your perfect bridal look

How exciting! A wedding is and will always be one of the most important days in any woman’s life, and let’s be honest: We could go quite crazy at the thought! Now, take a deep breath and enjoy our list of do’s and don’ts for your perfect bridal look: Low-cut neckline, cut-outs, crop tops – trends come and go. You’ll keep your wedding photos for ever. Concentrate on your body and on the cut of the dress. Decorations, frills, ruffles etc. can also be added to it. For example, create a mood board with the clothes that you like. By the way, Pinterest is a virtual pin board that is just ideal for this. Smoky eyes and red lips create a classic, enchanting look. But red lipstick marks on the veil are not in the least appealing. Most brides therefore opt for natural, timeless make-up. The key words here are: waterproof and long-lasting! If you do decide on the smoky-eyed look, then use a good eyeshadow base beforehand so that it will last through the evening’s dancing. A coronet, circlet or garland of flowers? When it comes to hairstyles, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Naturally, the hair ornament you choose must go with the wedding dress. So you should first answer the question of what effect you want to achieve on the most beautiful day of your life. Romantic, playful, wild, classic or elegant – depending on your choice, you could wear a garland of flowers with coloured or white blossoms, a classic circlet with elegant pearls or a coronet for an enchanting princess look. Disguising you true self is and will always be the biggest „don’t“! Obviously, you don’t wear a bridal gown every day to walk down the street, but you should still feel comfortable in it. Stay authentic and don’t follow a particular trend, or lines like „but Carrie wore one just like it!“. Make sure it fits well and also that you can move around in it. It’s totally up to you whether you go for snow white, eggshell, champagne or maybe pink for your wedding dress! But maybe you or your favourite person have a favourite colour? This could then set the tone for your wedding. A Barbie wedding in every shade of pink, an underwater worlds wedding in aquamarine and blue or a completely white wedding – we think it’s really exciting. Never over-accessorize! Let’s paint you a mental image: Red patent wedding shoes, giant diamond drop earrings, bridal gloves with embroidery and lace plus a silver statement necklace with the pearls from a hundred oysters. It’s too much! Make sure your accessories go with the wedding dress and pick up individual elements, and that the individual pieces of jewellery go together. Whether you choose sparkling rhinestone jewellery, classic pearls or subtle silver for the most beautiful day of your life is up to you! However, we’re also happy to advise you in our stores! And finally, one last tip for your perfect bridal look: Happy girls are the prettiest!
