We’re in love with opulent jewellery and dazzling summer flowers

Our new collection starts off the second half of the year with the theme of Baroque Colours, caressed by lots of flowery details. Because summer and the whole flower world are in full bloom, we simply couldn’t ignore the wonderful flowers all around us. For us, that meant rushing into our favourite florist and admiring the magnificent selection with open mouths. We went for a classic look, and took some elegant roses in pastel shades back to the photo studio with us. Thanks to the enchanting roses and enticing pieces of jewellery, the studio session flew by. You can see the results here! 🌸 Our antique gold-tone ring adorned with a grey stone fits perfectly into this elegant tea rose or onto your finger. Ah, the fragrance of the rose during the shoot was simply bewitching. The bracelet with its ornamental design and the pink rose made an enchanting couple. We’re totally in love. ❤ Or are you more the type that goes for this sweet bracelet trimmed with lots of stylised blossoms? The stones shimmer in delicate shades of peach, cream and white. These stud earrings with long floral pendants full of rhinestone crystals in elegantly shimmering colours are like a cascade. Simply beautiful!!! ✨ We also have some magnificent rings in Baroque Colours, of course. These pretty rings felt completely at home in our rose paradise. If you prefer strong colours, this bracelet with its chasing and stones in smart burgundy might be the right style partner for you In any case, our flower partners for the next few days are the elegant, beautifully fragrant roses that accompanied our photo shoot so charmingly. What gorgeous summer flowers make your eyes light up? You’ll find all these lovely pieces in our stores, of course! 👀

Berlin Fashion Week Calling!

Next up on the agenda: Berlin Fashion Week (4 to 7 July). The BLOTY Award by HashMAG had happened just the day before. Over 1,000 bloggers had the chance to choose their favourite pieces in eight categories. Influential fashion blogger Riccardo Simonetti spearheaded the evening. Bijou Brigitte came in the top three in the Minimalistic category! You can visit our stores to find our absolute favourites! On Tuesday, styleranking staged an event at FashionBloggerCafé THE BEACH in the BeachMitte leisure centre. A wide-ranging programme awaited large numbers of influencers, bloggers and YouTubers. We were there too, of course. On 5 July, publishing house Klambt Verlag invited prominent guests to the style cocktail event at the cool venue, Soho House. Also in attendance was designer Michael Michalsky, who presented his style night on 10 July. The charming Anastasia Zampounidis appeared wearing an enchanting flower hair wreath by Bijou Brigitte. This was the same wreath she wore on HashMAG Blogger Lounge. She was, of course, available for a souvenir snapshot. Michael Michalsky dropped by Klambt Verlag’s style cocktail event. Re HashMAG: On 5 and 6 July, Bijou Brigitte wowed visitors with an inspiring stand in the Blogger Lounge in the Berliner Freiheit shopping centre. Around 500 influencers visited the cool event, and had the chance to try out individual choker designs and temporary summer tattoos at the Bijou Brigitte tables. We also organised a great competition with DERTOUR. The blogger who designed the best flat lay with our jewellery could win a great city break in HamPicturerg with two nights at the Hotel Reichshof HamPicturerg, Curio by Hilton ****/*. The sweet flower hair wreath by Bijou Brigitte appeared on the Mädchen magazine stand. Who wouldn’t want to ride a unicorn? The radiant Anastasia Zampounis did, of course. At 10 AM on 6 July, the Berliner Mode Salon summoned interested guests to the elegant Kronprinzenpalais, or Crown Prince’s Palace, to see the show of young Swiss newcomer Vanessa Schindler, presented by Elle and Mercedes Benz. The designer presented her Summer/Spring 2018 Collection, “Urethane Pool | Chapter Two.” Luckily the weather held, as Vanessa Schindler’s show had an open-air catwalk. The action moved swiftly on from the great collection to the legendary Fashion Breakfast held by publishing house Bauer Verlag in the China Club. Top-flight guests ensured a good atmosphere here too, despite the relatively early hour. In the afternoon, the caravan moved on to other prestigious events, scattered throughout the city during Fashion Week. A cheerful quartet, from left to right: Gianfranca Puddu (Manager Director, SPRLC), Klara Ahlers (Managing Director, Lavera), Sarah Hohnerkamp (PR Laverana) and Annegret Wittmaack (PR Bijou Brigitte) (Photo: Bauer, Photographer: ActionPress/James Coldrey) and a good-humoured trio on the right, from left to right: Christin Haenschke (PR Bijou Brigitte), Kati Biesing (Bauer) and Sandra Hannich (PR Bijou Brigitte) The next day, the final item on the agenda for the Bijou Brigitte team was the Gala Fashion Brunch in the Hotel Ellington. The G20 summit and its repercussions crept into the conversations of guests from the beautiful Hanseatic city of Hamburg. Fashion and politics: a truly thrilling morning cocktail. The Gala Event was again teeming with guests. (Photo: Gala, Photographer: Axel Kirchhof) Many thanks to Berlin and all the publishing houses for a thrilling Fashion Week! Insider tips for travelling to Milan

As all our loyal readers know, one of the cities we visited a few weeks ago was Milan. 😉 Luckily, alongside our Press Day, we also had enough time to enjoy a little bit of La Dolce Vita. Today, we wanted to share this with you – maybe you’re planning a trip to Milano (if you haven’t, you simply must!), and so one or two of our tips might come in handy! The perfect day in the city of fashion starts after breakfast with – what else would you expect? – an extensive trip around the shops! The best option, and the kindest on your purse, is to concentrate on the area around the Duomo, where there are countless shops, for example, in the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Via Torino and Piazza dei Marcanti. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a glamorous gallery of shops dating from the 19th century, is also particularly beautiful. And you simply must find the bull in the marble floor and spin around on its testicles with the heel of your shoe (careful!) – it’s said to bring good luck! Those of you with a little more money to spend, or who simply want to breathe a little more designer air by window shopping, might like to continue along the Via Monte Napoleone towards Quadrilatero della moda and its little streets where you can at least watch the elegant ladies of Milan shopping. To gather your strength after this, take a trip to the artists‘ quarter of Brera. Here, alongside little boutiques, art shops and markets, you’ll find plenty of restaurants and pizzerias. Afterwards, you can enjoy a delicious ice-cream from Amorino (Via Fiori Chiari). After taking a turn to the East, to the Castello Sforzesco, and strolling around the Park Sempione behind it, turn back to the Cathedral where you can enjoy the evening atmosphere and the cheerful hustle and bustle on the piazza below. The, for a classic aperitivo and dinner afterwards, we recommend the quarter around the Naviglio Grande. There’s always lots going on along both sides of this canal with its many bars and restaurants, especially in summer, and you can strolled around until late at night (don’t forget the mosquito repellent!). For those who’d like to further their cultural education the next day, we recommend the PAC (contemporary art) in the Via Palestro 14, the Palazzo Reale with its changing exhibitions, or a look at Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper in Santa Maria delle Grazie (don’t forget to book first). If we’ve been able to persuade you to book a ticket to Milan straight away, here’s another little tip: August is probably not the ideal time to visit – it’s very warm in the city then, and all the lovely Milanese have gone to the seaside. For the perfect travelling look, you’ll find jewellery and accessories online or in your Bijou Brigitte store, of course.

Hot press day in Milan

Phew, done it! Utterly exhausted but also happy and fulfilled by the last few weeks, we finished our press day marathon that began on 7 June in Hamburg and ended on 21 June in Milan after events in Paris and Madrid. In midsummer temperatures, we presented our Autumn/Winter Collection 2017/2018 to the Italian press and numerous bloggers in the fashion capital. Ironically, once gain we were presenting scarves, knitwear and glittering Christmas decorations, while almost melting in the heat as the sun beat down from the sky. But this is the way it is in the beautiful world of fashion. You go crazy every time and not just because you have fallen in love yet again with a wickedly expensive It piece.;-) But it wasn’t just us. The Milan visitors to the press day were also wowed by our new collection! Bloggers and influencers like Francesca and Melissa took numerous photos and shared them directly via their platforms, as was fitting. And after the event we had a scrumptious Italian gelato to cool off. Still part of the winter theme, you see. We only have time to take a short breather to recharge our batteries before moving on to the next projects, but we are really looking forward to them (next stop Barcelona – enough said;-))! Stay tuned – our insider tips and impressions from beautiful Italy are coming soon!

DIY: Barcelona-Style Mosaic Tealight Holders

Anyone who has ever been to Barcelona will be familiar with the lovely, colourful Park Güell. This fairytale garden created by Antoni Gaudí is one of the most famous sights of Spain’s second city. We’ve taken our inspiration from this homage to nature and would like to show you how to conjure up an eye-catching tealight holder from a simple glass. To go with it, we’ve put together some fantastic Barcelona-look items of jewellery. See for yourself! You’ll need: Hot glue gun Joint sealant Mosaic stones A little water A glass Spoons And this is how it’s done: Heat up your hot glue gun and use it to glue the mosaic stones to the glass in any pattern you like. Leave little gaps between the stones for the joint sealant. Then mix the sealant with a little water to create a creamy mixture. Now paint the mixture on between the mosaic stones. Watch out! You don’t want to get too much joint sealant onto the stones, as it’s difficult to remove once it’s dry. Leave your work of art to dry overnight, and then carefully wipe off the thin residue of sealant from the mosaic stones with a damp cloth. Now you just need a tealight, and your magnificent Barcelona-style tealight set is ready! These drop earrings are perfect for making a dramatic impression in Spain’s most beautiful city: Coloured tassels decorate the ornamental earrings and wonderfully emphasise the mint-coloured pearls! Or maybe you’d rather go for something more opulent? Then you’ll be delighted with this powerful ring! Tassels on tassels! The brighter and more brilliant the better! Or do you prefer delicate pastel shades? Then these two eye-catching pieces are just perfect for you. And finally, we’ve chosen these trendy mini-format tassel earrings for you! You’ll find more summery jewellery and accessories online or in our stores. What colours will you be going for?

Press Day in Madrid

It was quite a dramatic contrast: The temperature had soared to 40 degrees in the shade when we presented the new Autumn/Winter Collection on our Spanish Press Day on 15 June 2017. The Spaniards were groaning even more than we were – after all, we were pleased that the summer had finally arrived! However, visitor numbers were record-breaking, despite the high temperatures! The presentation of our jewellery in the very spacious, modern event location Espacio Mood Serrano, which had just opened in Madrid’s smart Salamanca district, was marked by careful attention to detail. The many Spanish journalists, bloggers and stylists were very impressed both by the collection and by the setting. Let’s celebrate diversity! Our new collection celebrates the beauty of fashion in all its facets. The Baroque Colours, Black Brocade, Victorian Velvet and Party Companions theme groups were particular hits with the Iberian media representatives. Welcome to the new Espacio Mood Serrano! The 400 m² provides plenty of space for our creative layout. Particularly popular with the Spaniards: the Baroque Colours theme Group … … and Black Brocade … along with Party Companions. Aren’t the unicorns cute? A giant-sized version of German blogger Farina Opoku from novalanalove on the screen in our video clip. Bringing green into the city: the vertical garden in the Espacio Mood. It was lovely again in Madrid – and you don’t need to wait too long for the first pieces in the new collection either. They will be available in our stores and our online shop from the beginning of August. ¡Adios and see you soon!

Sugar-sweet Parisian delights go perfectly with jewellery created by us

If you’re planning a trip to the capital of France, we strongly recommend a visit to Ladurée. This Parisian patisserie, founded by Louis Ernest Ladurée in Paris in 1862, is particularly famous for its tasty macarons, bonbons and filled chocolates. It was hard for us to choose from the massive choice of tempting little artworks on display. After long consideration, and avoiding the other customers elbowing their way in, we decided: Our favourites are the delicious raspberry tartlets with lychee and the enticing chocolate dessert. Which of these makes your heart beat faster? In our team, it’s 3 to 1 in favour of the raspberry tartlet. What makes you happy? Macarons, the little round baked meringues, are the speciality of the House of Ladurée, and you can try them in all sorts of flavours. Our favourites were raspberry and lemon. But there are also unusual varieties, such as rose petal. And every chocaholic will simply love the macaron made from the finest chocolate. A must for every gourmand! Ladurée operates a number of tea houses in Paris where you can enjoy these delicacies with a cup of tea or coffee. Why not drop into the Rue Royale, in the 8th Arrondissement, for a while? The firm’s own scented candles, fragrances and almond-scented skincare range are also popular souvenirs of Paris. For the perfect shopping look, you’ll find French-inspired jewellery and accessories online or in your Bijou Brigitte store, of course.
