Discover our jewellery! Our tour of Poland and the Baltic

Summer’s the time for travel, and that also applies for the Bijou Brigitte team, of course. Naturally, we wouldn’t keep our loveliest travel experiences a secret from you. This time we wanted to visit a few less well-known cities in neighbouring Eastern Europe. There are some absolute little gems waiting for tourists there. We were accompanied all the time by the storks, which have nests everywhere here and also love to walk along the streets sometimes too. We set off on our trip to Poland and the Baltic by car at the end of June. Being able to take our furry friend along was a real bonus. We drove through the tranquil town of Poznan – which we loved, despite the heavy rain – on to the capital, Warsaw, where the sun also put in an appearance. There were some wonderful architectural gems to see. However, the more recent history of the past century is almost tangible, and gave us pause for thought too. The Old City of Warsaw has many different facets. From there, a few motorways and lots of country roads took us towards the Baltic. The first stop was Kaunas (in Lithuania), where we wandered along the longest pedestrian zone in Europe, Laisvės alėja, and admired the architecture. Kaunas warmly welcomes its guests. After this, Riga welcomed us with wonderfully summery weather. On our tour around the Latvian capital, we suddenly found we were standing in front of a sculpture of the Musicians of Bremen – a present from the Hanseatic City of Bremen itself. Not one of the Musicians of Bremen – it’s our favourite travelling companion! 🙂 Riga in the evening light. After that, we carried on towards Lithuania, to the capital Vilnius this time. Firstly, we wanted to visit the Amber Museum. Alongside the familiar amber-toned gemstone, there are also fantastic examples in shades of yellow, green and red. The Baltic states and the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea are famous for their wonderful treasure troves of amber. Naturally, these are also often turned into magnificent pieces of jewellery. Our eyes simply widened with amazement, as you can imagine. Psst! You’ll find some beautiful jewellery featuring amber and other gemstones in the Bijou Brigitte gemstone range. At the Cathedral in Vilnius, the tower is separated from the sacred building. The car was packed again and off we set again to beautiful Gdansk. The Old City dazzled us with its splendour and tempted us to stay a while. Because the journey via Kaliningrad unfortunately involved much too much bureaucracy, we were able to enjoy the picturesque streets and country roads to the full. And our sightseeing included lots of storks. 😉 The Neptune Fountain in front of the Artus Court Finally, we were scheduled to visit Szczecin. As a suitable end to our holiday, summer began to show us its more autumnal side again, with a few brief rain showers. The city of Szczecin outlined against the setting sun. The quintessential features of our trip: fascinating architecture, charming boutiques, great hotels, exquisite restaurants and an enchanting natural landscape – in short, a paradise for all those who like to walk the path less travelled. Would you like to reveal your best travel tips to us? You’ll find some suitable companions for your Polish journey in our stores, of course.

Volume and elegance – the perfect party look

Yay!! It’s the weekend and the next party’s coming up! Do you spend time wondering what look you’ll choose to turn day into night? Casual, elegant or maybe seductive? To help you to stop worrying about your hairstyle, we’d like to show you a chic hairstyle for a night out with the girls. Perfect for any occasion – for a prom, a girls‘ night or just drinks after work! Let’s party! And this is how it works: Separate the upper section of the hair off and tie the middle section using a little hair tie into a pony tail, leaving out the hair on the left and right. Then fix a hair donut underneath the upper section of the hair to give the hair the necessary volume. Backcomb the hair. Now twist everything in a little and fix firmly in place. Next, lightly backcomb the hair at the side and fix it under the upper hair. Choose a pretty hairband and place it in the hair. Nearly there: Combine your hairstyle with a few striking earrings, and the look’s finished! A choker in a colour that matches your hairband will turn your hair masterpiece into a real head-turner at the next party! There are lots more hair accessories waiting for you in our branches! We’re curious about your dressed up look! Go for it!

A Special Day by Bijou Brigitte in Munich

The weekend of 1 to 3 September 2017 was the date for the second „A Special Day with BB“. The motto this time was „Shop Your Oktoberfest Look!“. And where’s the best place to find an outfit for an Oktoberfest? Correct! Munich, of course. The enchanting Irina von Fashionambit acted as our fashion consultant on Saturday, 2 September, providing plenty of advice and support. After a relaxed night and a lavish breakfast in the lovely Cortiina Hotel in the heart of Munich, our winner Lisa and BFF Pia from Gescher started their exciting shopping day with BB. The happy winner is delighted with her shopping budget of €650 The trip started at Angermaier, a wonderful supplier of traditional costumes and leather fashions. Firstly, the shopping budget was formally handed over. Lisa was delighted to be given a voucher worth €350 to be spent in Angermaier Trachten and another €650 for an unforgettable shopping experience. Trying on a dirndl at Angermaier with Irina and Lisa Overwhelmed by the fantastic choice of different traditional costumes, Lisa, Pia and Irina set off to search for a suitable dirndl. The influencer Irina and also the lovely Angermaier sales assistant, Irina, were on hand to provide advice and support in trying on the dirndls. The choice was narrowed down to a pink or a beige dirndl, both of which suited Lisa beautifully. Careful attention was also paid to the fit of the dirndl, with just a little „tweaking“ required. 😉 Lisa was drawn more to the beige dirndl, and of course, a blouse and apron were needed too. The two Irinas showed Lisa how precisely to tie a dirndl bow. Trying on the dirndl: instructions for tying a bow Do you know what side the bow needs to be tied? Lisa and Pia had it all explained to them very carefully: Bow on the left (the heart side): single – on the search for the other half! Bow on the right: taken – already found the love of your life! Bow at the front: open to anything! – Look out for naughty boys! 😉 Lisa liked the dirndl so much that she left it on. Everyone had amazing fun and an unforgettable shopping experience at Angermaier! Lisa in jewellery heaven at Bijou Brigitte The trip continued by tram towards Marienplatz. As a Bijou Brigitte fan, Lisa made straight for the BB store there to find some jewellery that would go with the dirndl. A choker that suited the dirndl caught her eye. Lisa was advised by Irina, who knew precisely which items of jewellery were the most eye-catching. Lisa discovers Bijou Brigitte’s Oktoberfest jewellery Lisa carefully went through the Oktoberfest Collection and decided on a set of a pink and white bracelet with edelweiss pendants. Lisa couldn’t resist the temptation to carry on shopping, going for earrings and bracelets from the gemstone collection in her favourite colour of pink! The Oktoberfest outfit is complete! A Bijou Brigitte circlet rounded off the Oktoberfest outfit, and so Lisa’s now ready for Munich’s fifth season of the year! After the little detour into Bijou Brigitte, there was still money left in the budget, and so the trip continued to a few more fashion outlets. Shopping atmosphere: The bags are multiplying… After their successful shopping trip, Lisa and Pia deserved a break in the Louis Hotel in Munich, where they also were able to enjoy the second night of their shopping weekend. Lisa and Pia have definitely decided to visit the Oktoberfest in Munich together next year! Are you still on the search for the perfect Oktoberfest outfit? We can warmly recommend a trip to Angermaier! To go with that, you’ll need the right jewellery too, which you’ll find online or in one of our stores in Germany. The BB team hope that you have a fantastic time at the Oktoberfest! We’re styled and ready to go!

Bijou Brigitte and Shopping Queen in Nuremberg

Whoop, whoop! 🎉 On August 24, it finally happened. It was 12 noon and Bijou Brigitte and the nice Shopping Queen casting team were out and about on Nuremberg’s Pfannenschmiedsgasse. Needless to say that the pink Shopping Queen passenger van was also there. Since this is the photo subject par excellence, it had, of course, paid a visit to a car wash and was squeaky clean when it joined us there in Nuremberg’s Pfannenschmiedsgasse. Ready, steady,…. The popular TV show’s fans could barely contain their excitement when they saw the bright pink van arriving. The first shots were taken from afar before they posed right in front of the bus. And the kicker was that the van’s doors were open and our enthusiastic Shopping Queen and jewellery fans could also take shots inside. There were even more radiant smiles when the fans heard that they would also get a discount in the two Bijou Brigitte stores in Breite Gasse and City Point. Discount flyers were found all over the place. After shopping at Bijou Brigitte, many fans went to see the van once again to take more photographs. The mood was really great on that beautiful summer day. ☀️ Anja, a member of the Bijou Brigitte team, was also unable to resists the van’s charm. Since Shopping Queen is the talk of the town, we made use of the opportunity and asked the casting team a few questions. Margot, for example, said that even after five years of the show and the 1,000th episode, broadcast in November last, Vox is still seeing a huge interest in the show. Many interesting people want to take part and contribute to all episodes. On Thursday, the most important question thus was: “How can I become part of it?” The answer came swiftly. 😉 “The ladies will never get tired of Guido.“ Nor will we. So the show will certainly continue… Casting questionnaires being filled in.  Our joyful event, however, could not continue beyond 7 pm. Many thanks to all the marvellous Shopping Queen and jewellery fans in Nuremberg. You were great! The Shopping Queen and Bijou Brigitte team are very pleased with this successful event❣️ P.S.: For your own shopping spree, you can use our stores and online shop, where you will find the latest trends in jewellery and accessories! 😍
