Sugar-sweet Parisian delights go perfectly with jewellery created by us

If you’re planning a trip to the capital of France, we strongly recommend a visit to Ladurée. This Parisian patisserie, founded by Louis Ernest Ladurée in Paris in 1862, is particularly famous for its tasty macarons, bonbons and filled chocolates. It was hard for us to choose from the massive choice of tempting little artworks on display. After long consideration, and avoiding the other customers elbowing their way in, we decided: Our favourites are the delicious raspberry tartlets with lychee and the enticing chocolate dessert. Which of these makes your heart beat faster? In our team, it’s 3 to 1 in favour of the raspberry tartlet. What makes you happy? Macarons, the little round baked meringues, are the speciality of the House of Ladurée, and you can try them in all sorts of flavours. Our favourites were raspberry and lemon. But there are also unusual varieties, such as rose petal. And every chocaholic will simply love the macaron made from the finest chocolate. A must for every gourmand! Ladurée operates a number of tea houses in Paris where you can enjoy these delicacies with a cup of tea or coffee. Why not drop into the Rue Royale, in the 8th Arrondissement, for a while? The firm’s own scented candles, fragrances and almond-scented skincare range are also popular souvenirs of Paris. For the perfect shopping look, you’ll find French-inspired jewellery and accessories online or in your Bijou Brigitte store, of course.

Bonjour Paris – the new collection is introduced in France

On Friday, 9 June 2017, the first Bijou Brigitte French press day was held in Paris. With the motto „Vive la diversité!“, the new items from the 2017/2018 autumn/winter collection were presented in the trendy OFF Paris Seine hotel. In a relaxed atmosphere, right on the Seine and in glorious sunshine, the invited guests were able to discover the new pieces of jewellery and accessories. (By the way, the hotel is a real insider’s tip.) The invited guests included journalists from well-known fashion magazines (such as Maxi, Glamour and ELLE). French influencers such as Lilithmoonlife, Mary_B and Floriane_LT were each able to find their personal „it“ piece for the autumn/winter season too. The „Metallics“ theme was one of the guests‘ favourites. The bags, pieces of jewellery and watches shimmered mysteriously and are the perfect companions for cooler days. The 925 silver collection also went down very well with the journalists and influencers. Jewellery with graphic elements and the trendy chokers proved particularly popular. The floral jewellery in the „Barock Colours“ theme – for the transition time between summer and autumn – was also a real highlight. Chokers and a pink velvet hairband attracted glances as if by magic. The influencer Learrows particularly liked the pink watches. The lovely flowers from @refletsdesfleurs beautifully set off the flowery accessories and pieces of jewellery. The guests at the event were also able to enjoy a delicious breakfast, of course, including tasty croissants served up by the OFF Paris Seine. We’d like to wish you all a wonderful summer, as you wait for a glimpse of these lovely items in our stores!

Press Day in Hamburg with Special Guest Farina Opoku!

On 7 June, we presented our new collection for the colder months of the year, which are hopefully still a long way off. The presentation in the trendy event location Halle 6 in Hamburg was characterised by great attention to detail, and the invited journalists and bloggers were all extremely enthusiastic about the new, splendid collection.  Let’s celebrate diversity!  Our new collection celebrates the beauty of fashion in all its aspects. Floral elements, graphic shapes and strong colours blend harmoniously in the jewellery and accessories. Velvet, newly rediscovered, adds a particularly elegant note to our bags and on-trend chokers. But see for yourselves! We’re offering you a glimpse of the new fashion items for the autumn/winter season here. Whoop, whoop! Our special guest Farina Opoku from novalanalove visited the event at lunchtime and was very curious about the items of jewellery and accessories. Farina herself had posed as a model in front of the Bijou Brigitte camera for three collection themes. Pictures of herself, blown up onto banners 2.7 m high, were naturally a major highlight for the likeable influencer. And then it was out with the smartphone and time to get snapping! #bblovesfarina Our red sofa in the Victorian Velvet corner was on hand for our guest to take a short break. Farina skilfully draped herself across it to pose for a few snapshots, of course. 😉 #bblovesfarina We were also absolutely delighted to be visited by the enchanting society expert Vanessa Blumhagen with her cute dog Enna. As a reward, Enna was given a collar bearing her name. #truelove You don’t need to wait too long now for the first pieces in our new collection either. They’ll be available in our stores and also in the online shop from the beginning of August. Have a great time!

A bun with attitude – and a sweet alternative to the classic bun!

Which hairstyle is currently a huge hit with lots of girls, but unfortunately not so popular with most men? Correct – it’s the bun. Whether it’s a half-bun, messy bun, low bun – they all have one thing in common: the hair is tied into a pretty topknot. And sometimes that can look really boring. We combine a high bun with a French plait to create a sweet, playful yet elegant hairstyle that will also turn every man’s head. In just a few steps, you too can create a real masterpiece on your head! The best thing is that, despite the fact that all the hair is tied back away from the face, this bun, with its sweet hairband and plaiting technique, never looks severe! Just ideal for hot summer days and romantic nights. To create the bun, you’ll need: Hair band Hair pins Scrunchie Bun donut This is how it works: 1. Throw you head forward (careful!) and separate out three strands of hair from the bottom hairline. 2. Plait a braid, pulling in more hair as you go (French braid). 3. Tie everything together in a ponytail. 4. Pull a bun donut in the right size and colour over the scrunchie and distribute the hair over it evenly. 5. Fix everything with hair clips and 6. decorate with a lovely hair band. Sweet as pie! The hair band with little roses on it sweetly sets off the bun and goes perfectly with the plait style! You’ll find everything you need and lots more great hair ornaments online or in our stores.

Wrapped around the foot – home-made „Romantic Folk“ sandals

You’re totally gone on the playful hippie style, love Oriental ornaments, and can’t do without elaborate patterns, tassels and feathers? Then you’re likely to fall head over hells for our new „Romantic Folk“ collection. The pieces of jewellery in this style theme look as if they’ve travelled here from all over the world: a touch of ethnic style, something out of the Arabian Nights, a bit of Bollywood and a splash of flamenco. It sounds exciting and it looks it too. You can use this style to draw attention to your feet in particular, as anklets and toe-rings are an absolute must-have. And, of course, we also have another fantastic idea for you! Your own individual sandals are the icing on the cake for your „Romantic Folk“ look. We show you how to do it here: For this „DIY“ project, you simply need a pair of plain flip-flops, a thin scarf with a brightly coloured hippie-style pattern and a pair of scissors. Firstly, you need to cut the scarf in half lengthways, so that you have two parts. Then roll each of these into a „sausage“, starting with the cut edge. This will stop the ends of the fabric from fraying. Now start the wraparound operation on one shoe. Fold the scarf once in the middle and pull it through the straps of the flip-flops as shown in the illustration. Now pull both ends through the loop you have created. Finally, wrap the scarf around both straps. Repeat this with the other flip-flop. Actually, your „Romantic Boho“ sandals are now ready to wear. But they only look really cool, of course, when they’ve been wrapped around the feet properly. There are various options to choose from here. This is the one we like best: Cross the two ends of the scarf under your heel, and start wrapping at the front of your ankle. Tie the scarf once or twice around the leg, depending on length, and knot the ends so that a little bit of the fabric can flap gently as you walk. Cool, don’t you think? But you don’t want everyone just looking at your feet, of course! Hands are richly decorated in this style too. Lots of bright bracelets with beads and tassels, antique gold-tone mid-rings, double-rings and slave bracelets are an absolute must-have! You’ll find the scarf we used here plus lots more pieces and accessories in the „Romantic Folk“ style online and, as always, in all our stores! Have fun following our suggestions and gathering compliments!

DIY: Pimp your Glasses!

Summer time’s the time for sunglasses! And alongside good UV protection, a cool shape and a trendy style are pretty important too. This year, the word is: the more striking, the better. Whether they’re mirrored, oversized, brightly coloured or strikingly decorated – this season there are no limits to how crazy you can look. We show you how to transform a fairly plain pair of glasses into real head-turners. All you need: Sunglasses Beads, e.g. from the P. cookery Hot adhesive Tweezers (and a cute unicorn to get you in the mood) And this is how it works: Choose your favourite beads and place however many you need in a row within easy reach. Now add a tiny (!) blob of hot adhesive onto each bead one by one and press the bead onto the sunglasses immediately. If you have chosen small beads, you may find it easier to position them properly on the edge of the glasses using a pair of tweezers. And your „new“, hip sunglasses are ready to wear in an instant! We’re on fire for this sweet flamingo! Will he end up on your sunglasses too? We’re seeing stars! You too? They’re guaranteed with our trendy oversized sunglasses! You’re one in a melon: Rainbow colours, mirrored and suitably decorated – these just have to be the most must-have sunglasses … And finally, we’ve added a few blossoms for rose summer days! You’ll find more trendy sunglasses and summery accessories online or in our stores. We got the little beads and pendants from the P. cookery. And which beads will you be choosing?

DIY: The right place for all your bits and pieces!

Long walks along the beach on holiday are simply wonderful and a great way of relaxing: barefoot in the water, sand between the toes and little waves washing beautiful shells, polished glass or glittering stones onto the shore. You’re bound to pick up a few bits and pieces for yourself as a souvenir or for the people you love. But where do these lovely objects always end up? On the whole, they just get stuck away in a drawer. All the more reason for this lovely little DIY project, where we’ve displayed everything we’ve collected from the beach in a picture frame. And, incidentally: if you add in a piece of jewellery from our new „Summer Souvenirs“ collection, the people you give this present to will be even happier! Take a look 😉 Our little silver anchor necklace is very much at home next to our dolphin made from blue, polished fragments and little fishes made from broken shells! Super-cute, aren’t they? And there’s some great „flotsam and jetsam“ on our necklace too. It makes us want to rush straight to the seaside. What about you? Are you still looking for jewellery that looks as if it’s been made by the original inhabitants of your favourite island? Taraaa! <3 Things are more bearable under the palm trees – and the right beach jewellery really helps too! Anchor alarm! We’ve got the perfect companion for you for a few days by the sea! We’d love to find this dazzlingly blue starfish on the beach 😉 Wouldn’t you? Little stones arranged in your favourite design are a great souvenir of a lovely holiday – but they also make a wonderful gift too! You’ll find more summer-souvenirs-style nautical jewellery online or in our stores! What will you conjure up out of your bits and pieces?

Comeback: 5 stylish ways to wear a bandana

Tattoo necklaces, patches and now bandanas too – we just can’t get enough of the cool trends from the 90s. So let’s get out those little square scarves in every possible colour and design! Bandanas go with absolutely any outfit and are THE statement piece for 2017. And you can wrap it round and knot it as much as you like. Today, we’ll show you 5 stylish ways to wear bandanas: We’re up to our neck in bandanas 😉 We’ve given the most classic of all bandana styles a nautical twist here. Combine it with an anchor necklace and large hoop earrings – and you’re ready for a trip around the bay. We think this version is pretty cool too: Fold the bandana up into a narrow strip and wrap it around your wrist until you can just about tie a little knot. Add some large rings, and there you are! Maybe you’d like to give your classic bag a make-over? Just tie a matching bandana around the flap. Et voilà: your new IT piece! You can easily pimp your (boring) jeans with a bandana too! Simply tuck it loosely into the pocket or knot it round the belt loop. Now that’s what we call cool! Ankles are also part of the 90s comback. A bandana tied around the ankle will make your white sneakers look dazzling. We’re in love! You’ll find all our trendy scarves and lots more cool bandanas online or in our stores!
